Golden Bear Football Wins NCAA Regional Title, Advances to School's First-Ever National Semifinal in Colorado

The Kutztown University football team won its first-ever NCAA Division II Super Region One championship Saturday, Dec. 2, with a 28-16 victory at Slippery Rock. The victory sends the Golden Bears (12-2) into the national semifinals 3:30 p.m. EST, Saturday, Dec. 9, against No. 1 Colorado School of Mines in Golden, Colo. The semifinal games will be carried on ESPN+.

Kutztown also set a new school record for wins in a season and extended its school record for consecutive wins (12) by knocking off The Rock for the fourth time in a row and seventh time in their last 10 meetings dating back to the 2011 PSAC Championship game.

KU won the 2023 Pennsylvania State Athletic Championship (PSAC) Championship Nov. 11, 31-7 at home vs. Slippery Rock, its third in program history.
