NIAGARA FALLS AIR RESERVE STATION, NY (11/02/2011)(readMedia)-- The United States Army Reserve's 99th Regional Support Command will conduct a ribbon cutting ceremony to officially open the Niagara Falls Armed Forces Reserve Center on Thursday morning,
Who: Scheduled to speak at the event are: Maj. Gen. Patrick A. Murphy, The Adjutant General for New York; U.S. Army Reserve Ambassador Norbert J. Rappl, Army Reserve Ambassador for New York; and Col. Andrew Burns, Command Inspector General for the 99th RSC
What: Official ribbon-cutting ceremony to officially open the Niagara Falls Armed Forces Reserve Center. The Center has been occupied since December 2010 by elements of the United States Army Reserve and the New York Army National Guard.
When: Thursday, Nov. 3 at 10 a.m. All media will need to arrive at 9:30 a.m. for media brief and escort.

Background:
The Army Reserve's 99th RSC is opening a brand-new, state-of-the-art Armed Forces Reserve Center on the Niagara Falls Air Reserve Station. The 86,000-square-foot facility will be home to Soldiers from the Army Reserve's 277th Quartermaster Company, 865th Combat Support Hospital and 1982nd Medical Detachment, as well as Headquarters Company of the New York Army National Guard's 2nd Squadron, 101st Cavalry .
The 99th RSC acts as a "virtual installation" that provides world-class Base Operations support to over 50,000 Army Reserve Soldiers, 400 units and 300 facilities for the entire Northeast Region from Maine to Virginia for the Army Reserve in order to give our Warrior-Citizens and their Families the finest care, support, services and training.
