"I was asked to write a few lines about my experiences with the Great Pumpkin co-ed softball tournament in Staunton. Where do I start? The Great Pumpkin is a tournament that my team looks forward to all year; several members of my team have literally played in this tournament for decades. The competition is only second to seeing old friends and making new ones.

The relaxed atmosphere at The Great Pumpkin has allowed my team to form several traditions that we just wouldn't consider at any other tournament. Every year, we bring homemade soup and sandwiches to the field for lunch. We've been known to wear themed t-shirts with fun alias'. The friendly rivalry between teams has lead to many evenings socializing after games on Saturday. "The Pumpkin" has become a way for us to have fun, play the game we love and wind down after a busy summer. Freddy's Bunch wouldn't miss this tournament for the world!" (Jamel Roberts)
