Greencastle Native's Work Gaining Acclaim

ST. MARY'S CITY, MD (03/19/2012)(readMedia)-- Todd Eberly, a Greencastle, Pennsylvania native and an assistant political science professor at St. Mary's College of Maryland, is catching the media's attention with his latest paper, "Family Feud: Democratic Activists v. Democratic Voters- The Ideological Gulf that Thwarts a Sustained Majority." Washington Post opinion columnist Ruth Marcus recently interviewed Eberly and wrote an article about the paper, which was inspired by a book Eberly is currently co-authoring with Steven Schier of Carlton College.

Eberly, who earned his Ph.D. in public policy studies at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, teaches political science and public policy at the college, taking on courses that cover a range of topics related to the American political system. Before teaching at St. Mary's, Eberly was a senior research analyst with the Center for Health Program Development and Management. Eberly, who has been named one of the most influential voices in Maryland politics by Campaigns and Elections magazine, has authored and co-authored numerous studies, articles, and editorial pieces.

St. Mary's College of Maryland, designated the Maryland state honors college in 1992, is ranked one of the best public liberal arts schools in the nation by U.S. News & World Report. More than 2,000 students attend the college, nestled on the St. Mary's River in Southern Maryland.
