ELIZABETHTOWN, PA (04/04/2013)(readMedia)-- The High Center for Family Business will hold a breakfast seminar for Center members from 8:15 a.m. to 11 a.m., Thursday, May 9, 2013 on the Elizabethtown College campus. Gregg Lichtenstein, Ph.D. presents a workshop titled "Empowering the Next Generation of Entrepreneurs in Family Business." To register, please contact fbc@etown.edu or 717-361-1275.
Currently, many families are preparing the next generation to manage the existing business by sending them to business school. But does the next generation have the ability, not just to maintain what has already been created, but to re-invent or re-create the business in the event that the market changes drastically? For that to happen, the next generation needs entrepreneurial skills, not just management skills. Given the accelerated pace of change in the global market today, the future value of the family's wealth depends on the entrepreneurial skills of the next generation. Lichtenstein's presentation addresses the growing challenge of maintaining the entrepreneurial spirit and skills within family businesses.
