Hampton, IA Native Andrew Mollenbeck to Receive Media Award
LA MIRADA, CA (02/25/2014)(readMedia)-- Andrew Mollenbeck, native of Hampton, Iowa and a reporter for the WTOP in DC, is the winner of the Alumni in Media Award this year at Biola University. Mollenbeck ('07) spent his years at Biola blazing a trail in campus media, interning on both coasts, including WHO in Des Moines, KOGO in San Diego and WTOP/WFED in Washington.
In 2007 Mollenbeck began as a reporter for KNX in Los Angeles, the CBS affiliate, where he worked for three and a half years and covered the presidential campaign and debates, the O.J. Simpson armed robbery and kidnapping trial in Las Vegas, President Obama's inauguration in Washington, DC and the devastating earthquake in Haiti. Mollenbeck has reported for WTOP since 2010.
He will be honored Friday, Feb. 28, where Biola annually celebrates esteemed alumni at an Alumni Award Chapel and ceremony. Other awards that will be presented include the Cultural Impact Award, Lifetime Achievement Award, and the Clyde Cook Missions Award.
