Harrisburg Symphony Orchestra Returns for Annual Concert at Lebanon Valley College

ANNVILLE, PA (06/16/2015)(readMedia)-- Join Maestro Stuart Malina and the Harrisburg Symphony Orchestra in celebrating our country's independence during its 2015 Summer Concert Series with music for the whole family. An annual free concert is scheduled for Thursday, July 2 at 8 p.m. on the Academic Quad at Lebanon Valley College. The event will move into Blair Music Center in the event of inclement weather.

This is the eighth consecutive year LVC has hosted the symphony for a free summer concert. Guests will enjoy an evening of wonderful music that will include: "A Salute to the Big Apple," selections from Phantom of the Opera, "Fiddle Faddle," and "Adventures on Earth from E.T." The patriotic concert will also feature "God Bless America," "Stars & Stripes Forever," and "Armed Forces Salute."

The concert coincides with the opening of the Suzanne H. Arnold Art Gallery's summer exhibit, "Intersection of Art and the Printed Word." This exhibit discusses the relationship between art, the printed word, and culture during the rise of print publication in the late 18th through 19th centuries. The opening reception for the exhibition is Thursday, July 2 from 5 to 7 p.m.

The Harrisburg Symphony Orchestra, which will open its 2015-2016 concert season in October, currently sells subscriptions to both its Masterworks and Capital BlueCross Pops series. For more information or to subscribe today, please call 717-545-5527 or visit HarrisburgSymphony.org.
