ANNVILLE, PA (06/21/2016)(readMedia)-- Kick back with friends and family and join the Harrisburg Symphony Orchestra during its 2016 Summer Concert Series and celebrate our country's independence. An annual free concert is scheduled for Thursday, June 30 at 8 p.m. on Lebanon Valley College's Academic Quad. The event will move into the Bertha Brossman Blair Music Center in the event of the inclement weather.

This is the ninth consecutive year that LVC has hosted the symphony for the free summer concert. This year's concert is part of the College's 150th Anniversary celebration. Visit www.lvc.edu/150 to learn more regarding the activities that will occur during the anniversary year.

Guests will enjoy an evening of wonderful patriotic music that will include the "Olympic Fanfare," music from the motion picture "Lincoln" by John Williams, and selections from "South Pacific" by Richard Rodgers. Additional music includes pieces by Leroy Anderson, John Philip Sousa, Aaron Copland, Morton Gould, and Louis Prima. The concert will also feature perennial favorites "God Bless America," "Armed Forces Salute," and "Stars & Stripes Forever."

In addition to the concert, several food trucks will be available for you to enjoy dinner or a snack. Look for His & Herr's Mobile Diner, Huey's Lemonade & French Fries, Marsico's Italian Food, Sirro's Original Italian Water Ice, and Uncle Jerry's Kettle Corn.

The annual concert coincides with the opening of the Suzanne H. Arnold Art Gallery's summer exhibit, "Con Spirito: Emotion in the Printed Image." The exhibit features selections that resonate feelings of joy and religious spirituality, as well as humor and fun. The opening reception for the exhibition is Wednesday, June 29 from 5–7 p.m.
