SUMMERDALE, PA (10/27/2011)(readMedia)-- Joan Hassinger has been selected as Central Penn College's 2011 Staff Excellence Award winner. Hassinger works in academic affairs as assistant to the provost for the college. The award was presented during Central Penn's annual years of service awards and recognition event for college faculty and staff.

"Joan is simply amazing," says Provost Janice Moore. "Besides always being pleasant, helpful and professional, she has a willingness to 'automate' processes for the academic affairs side of the institution that is greatly appreciated."

Hassinger was truly surprised by the honor. "I appreciate the recognition and the award, but it is the wonderful academic affairs team and the friendly faculty and staff at Central Penn who make it possible for me to do what I do with a smile," says Hassinger.

Staff excellence award winners are nominated by, and voted on by their peers.

Hassinger resides in Richfield, Pa.
