Hasten Biddlecome and Peter Whallon pick up CCIW Men's Soccer Player of the Week honors

Wheaton men's soccer players Hasten Biddlecome and Peter Whallon have each been named this week's College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) Men's Soccer Players of the Week by the conference office on Tuesday afternoon. Biddlecome earns the league's award for defense and Whallon is recognized for the award on offense. The duo helped lead Wheaton to a 2-0 record last week with wins against Wittenberg University and St. Norbert College at the Bob Baptista Invitational.

Tuesday's announcement marks the second time Biddlecome has earned the award. His previous selection came in his freshman season when he was named the CCIW Defensive Player of the Week on October 16, 2017. Biddlecome was spectacular last Saturday night in a 4-1 win against No. 25 ranked St. Norbert College as he registered nine saves with several highlight-reel stops. The visiting Green Knights out-shot the Thunder 21-9 in the match as Biddlecome faced constant pressure in the match. The Thunder netminder tallied one save in the 5-0 shutout of Wittenberg University on Friday in the season opener.

Whallon registered a goal and two assists for the Thunder last weekend. He scored the game-winning goal winning goal in the 18th minute on Saturday night in Wheaton's impressive 4-1 victory against No. 25 ranked St. Norbert College. Whallon also tallied an assist on the opening goal of the match against the Green Knights. The senior also distributed an assist on Wheaton's first goal of the season in Friday's victory against Wittenberg University.
