Health Conscious Bread Eaters Knead This Alternative Class
Control Salt, Sugar and Gluten Intake with "Whole Grain & Gluten Free Bread in Five Minutes a Day"
STAUNTON, VA (04/02/2010)(readMedia)-- The Staunton Park and Recreation Department is offering Whole Grain and Gluten Free Bread in Five Minutes at Montgomery Hall Park on Thursday, April 15th from 6:30-9:00pm. Based on the cookbook with the same name, this class explores the use of whole grains, seeds and nuts and gluten-free flours to add beneficial nutrients and complex flavors to your daily bread. Knowing that people are changing the way they eat and bake because of health concerns or lifestyle choices, the authors took their established method and applied it to breads rich in whole grains, fruits, and vegetables. Baking your bread at home has many advantages, including putting you in control of your salt, sugar and gluten intake.
Health-conscious bread eaters need homemade options more than anyone else. They want delicious bread, but they can't find the healthy ingredients they'd like to use in traditional bakeries, or in traditional recipes. Whether you are looking for more whole grains, whether you're vegan, gluten-free, training for a triathlon, trying to reduced your cholesterol, or just care about what goes into your body, this class delivers.
The course fee for this class is $44 and includes the Healthy Bread in Five Minutes a Day cookbook – please note that this is a different title than the Artisan Bread in Five Minutes a Day cookbook. Many flours with gluten will be present in the class. *If you have a gluten allergy: please notify us.* The class fee is $44 and that includes Melanie Jones instruction, sampling & official cookbook.
