Heather Nennig Receives Three Ripon College Awards
RIPON, WI (05/04/2010)(readMedia)-- Heather Nennig, a junior majoring in chemistry and biology from New Holstein, Wis., was named the recipient of the 2010 Leone Oyster Memorial Scholarship and Prize, the 2010 American Association of University of Women Award, and the 2010 Office of Community Engagement Excellence in Service Award, during a ceremony held April 21, 2010 at Ripon College.
The Leone Oyster, Class of 1919, Memorial Scholarship and Prize recognizes a junior majoring in chemistry or chemistry/biology with at least a 3.0 grade average in chemistry. The prize includes a cash award and tuition credit. The recipient is chosen by members of the chemistry faculty, and must posses the qualities of scholarship and hard work that characterized Professor Oyster, a member of the department of chemistry from 1920 to 1962.
The American Association of University Women Award recognizes outstanding service to the College, the Ripon community and to humankind by junior and senior women with good academic achievement.
The Office of Community Engagement Excellence in Service Award recognizes a student who has made both the Ripon College and outreach communities better places to live through their passion and dedication within the service field.
Nennig is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Sidney Nennig of New Holstein, Wis.
