GAINESVILLE, GA (08/30/2012)(readMedia)-- When Heidi Fawn Atchley of Trenton, Ga., graduated from Brenau University in May, she did so with what few students can boast – a perfect 4.0 grade point average and a share of the prestigious Cora Anderson Hill award for students with the highest academic record.

The award, given each year at the 134-year-old Women's College at Brenau to the student with the highest grade point average in the graduating class, was named for a Brenau alumna from Gainesville, Ga., who had a distinguished career in journalism and public service.

The daughter of Lisa and trent Atchley, Heidi was a graphics design major and a member of Kappa Pi art fraternity and the honor societies of Phi Kappa Phi, Alpha Lambda Delta and Omicron Delta Kappa at the Gainesville, Ga., university. She never made less than an A grade in any of her courses during her four years at Brenau.

She shared the Cora Anderson Hill award with Marjorie Uys, an accounting major from Gainesville, Ga.

"To finish four years of college with the highest grade point average in your class is remarkable enough," said Dr. Nancy Krippel, the brenau provost and vice president of academic affairs, "but to do that with all A's is truly extraordinary. We congratulate Heidi and Marjorie for their wonderful achievement."
