HERKIMER, NY (11/22/2011)(readMedia)-- Herkimer County Community College Baseball Captain Hassan Evans of Brooklyn has signed a National Letter of Intent to compete in a Division I baseball program for 2012-13.
Evans, a 6' 3" centerfielder and right-handed pitcher for Herkimer, has signed to play at Delaware State next season. He is a Liberal Arts & Sciences: General Studies major at Herkimer. Evans hit .305 with five doubles, two triples, and two homeruns last year as a freshman and started 30 games in the outfield. Evans is also getting a lot of attention from major league scouts because of his 96 mph fastball. Evans struck out 16 batters in nine innings of work last year. Evans played for Xaverian High School in Brooklyn, NY.
