SUNY Potsdam Assistant Sports Information Director Peter Holehan

POTSDAM, N.Y. (09/11/2013)(readMedia)-- SUNY Potsdam Sports Information Director Dan Bronson has announced the hiring of Peter Holehan as the assistant sports information director for the 2013-14 season.

Prior to Potsdam, Holehan worked as a sports journalist for over nine years collectively at the South Florida Sun Sentinel newspaper in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and as a sports freelancer for the Times Union newspaper in Albany, N.Y.

Most notably, Holehan has reported on the Miami Heat, the University of Miami, Florida Atlantic University, the SONY Ericsson Open, the Delray Beach International Tennis Championships, several Futures and Challenger tennis events, the AHL's Albany Devils and over 100 high schools within South Florida and the Capital District.

Holehan has experience covering basketball, baseball, football, cross country, golf, tennis, swimming and diving, ice hockey, lacrosse, soccer, softball, volleyball, skiing, water polo, field hockey and gymnastics on the high school and collegiate levels.

During his career, Holehan has been awarded the Sunshine State award in the breaking news/investigative reporting category as well as the Florida Organization of the Year award for his coverage on the Special Olympics.

Holehan earned his Bachelors of Science degree in journalism and public relations at Utica College of Syracuse University in Utica, N.Y. in May of

2003.

A native of Utica, Holehan now resides in Potsdam.
