This award recognizes a staff person of an agency who has exhibited the compassion, skills and service that sets his/her contribution apart and/or whose actions on a particular day or over a period of time exemplify caring in home care.

Ms. Hanlon received her Bachelor of Science Degree from Norwich University in Northfield Vermont, and her Diploma in Nursing from Columbia Memorial School of Nursing. She was hired at the Eddy Visiting Nurse Association in 2003 and soon found her niche when she was asked to join the Palliative Care Program. She truly exhibits all of the qualities of a ‘Caring Nurse’ and this clearly shows in her manner and skills daily as she goes ‘above and beyond’ to meet the needs of her peers and every patient she comes into contact with.” As noted by one of her peers, “Elizabeth’s professionalism and commitment to excellence are evident and demonstrated as we worked together on an assignment; she is the best.” Ms. Hanlon was recently commended by the Palliative Care Supervisor of the Hospice Program for going the extra mile for one of her patients. It was noted that “she is caring, compassionate, knowledgeable, dependable and flexible at all times.”
