Home Care Association Honors Metropolitan Hospital CEO Meryl Weinberg
ALBANY, NY (06/08/2007)(readMedia)-- As part of their Annual Meeting and Conference, held June 10 – 12 in Saratoga Springs, NY, the Home Care Association will honor Meryl Weinberg, CEO, Metropolitan Hospital, New York City Health & Hospitals Corp, with the Ruth F. Wilson award for her outstanding contributions and service in the field of home care. The Home Care Association is pleased to recognize her for her passion in providing care that is truly inspiring. Her tireless efforts and commitment to excellence are to be commended.

This prestigious award is given to an individual who has demonstrated exceptional dedication and made a significant contribution to the home care field.
Ms. Weinberg joined the New York City Health and Hospitals Corporation (NYCHHC) in 1999 as Executive Director responsible for Home Health Services. Ms. Weinberg’s healthcare career spans more than twenty years including experiences at small community based organizations as well as major metropolitan medical centers. Prior to joining NYCHHC, Ms. Weinberg served as Chief Operating Officer for a community-based start up home health agency.
Throughout her career, her display of leadership and commitment to the many facets of health care are evident. An avid member of HCA’s Board of Directors and Chairperson for the Annual Meeting for many years, she is an incredible spokesperson for the home health industry. Ms. Weinberg is a 2005 National Association of Public Hospitals (NAPH) Fellow, a member of the Continuing Care Committee and a member of the NAHC Board. Ms. Weinberg was recently appointed as the Chief Executive Officer for Metropolitan Hospital, reverting back to her roots as a hospital nurse and a move which is an extension of her commitment to quality and patient-centered health care.
