Honor Veterans Day with SUNY Delhi

DELHI, NY (11/08/2012)(readMedia)-- SUNY Delhi Veterans Affairs and the SUNY Delhi Alumni Association will host a panel presentation "SUNY Delhi Salutes Veterans" Thursday, November 15, 12:30-1:45 p.m. in Farrell Center's Okun Theatre.

The panel presentation will focus on student veteran success. The Delhi American Legion will offer a presentation of colors and Provost John Nader will welcome all with a brief history of the role of veterans throughout SUNY Delhi's history.

The panel discussion will be monitored by Lou Shields '73, a Vietnam veteran and recently retired Director of Career and Transfer Services and Veterans Affairs at SUNY Delhi. The panel includes:

  • Louis Castellucci '62, veteran, retired executive, Port Authority of New York and New Jersey
  • Walter Caroompas '63, veteran, retired bank executive, member of the SUNY Delhi Alumni Advisory Council and College Foundation Board
  • Dominic Morales, veteran, retired Dean of Applied Sciences and Technology
  • Sean Taylor '09, veteran, Delhi Culinary Arts graduate
  • Virginia "Lynn" Giles '11, student veteran at SUNY Delhi
  • Justin Hutchins, SUNY Student Senate Assembly, Executive Cabinet
  • Jim Rogers, Senior Veteran Counselor, New York State Division of Veterans' Affairs, veteran

A reception with light refreshments will follow in the Farrell Loft.
