House Democrats Must Stop Blocking Action on FISA

ALBANY, NY (02/15/2008)(readMedia)-- It is unconscionable that Democrats in the House of Representatives, including New York’s Kirstin Gillibrand, Brian Higgins, John Hall and Michael Arcuri, are blocking the passage of critical legislation to fight terrorism and keep America safe. This bill has already passed the Senate with overwhelming bipartisan support and deserves passage.

As New Yorkers, we have experienced firsthand the damage that the unchecked destructive ambitions of international terrorists can inflict on American lives. We have not had another major terrorist attack on American soil since September 11th, because we have given our national security and law enforcement officers the tools they need to help keep us safe.

By pandering to the special interests on the extreme left fringe of our country, the Nancy Pelosi Democrats are hindering our ability to track terrorists’ plans and are placing our families at risk.

It is imperative that the Democrats return to act on this critical legislation today.
