I-190 Southbound Weekend Closures Between Exit 11 & Exit 14 Postponed Until Spring 2010

Scajaquada Expressway Ramp to I-190 Southbound Closure Planned for Saturday, October 17

ALBANY, NY (10/15/2009)(readMedia)-- The New York State Thruway Authority has announced the planned closures on I-190 southbound between Exit 11 (Scajaquada Expressway-Route 198) and Exit 14 (Ontario Street) from October 16-19, and October 23-26, 2009 have been postponed until Spring 2010. These closures were previously announced by the Authority on Tuesday, October 6, 2009.

However, this project will still require single lane and ramp closures on I-190 southbound in the near future.

On Saturday, October 17, 2009, from 1 a.m. until noon, the exit ramp from the Scajaquada Expressway (Route 198) westbound to I-190 southbound will be closed, weather permitting. A signed detour route will be in place advising motorists to exit the Scajaquada Expressway at Niagara Street (Route 266) southbound (with a left turn), continuing on Niagara Street where motorists may re-enter at Exit 9 (Peace Bridge-Canada-Porter Avenue). Motorists may enter I-190 southbound at the Niagara Street/Busti Avenue ramp.

The Authority will activate Dynamic Message Signs (DMS) and Highway Advisory Radio 1610 AM to advise motorists of these closures.

The Authority appreciates motorists' patience while this project takes place.
