ICYMI: Mark Treyger on Mamdani, Antisemitism, and Responsible Leadership on NY1's Hit Show Inside City Hall
NEW YORK, NY (07/29/2026) (readMedia)-- Last night, JCRC-NY CEO Mark Treyger appeared on Inside City Hall to discuss the relationship between New York's Jewish community and the Mamdani administration in light of last week's Upper West Side stabbing, which is now being investigated as a hate crime. Mark argued that Mamdani's rhetoric on Israel, including his recent video calling for Netenyahu's arrest, has major governing implications for the people he serves. It contributes to a growing manifestation of antisemitism: assigning collective blame to all Jewish people over disagreements with the Israeli government. He emphasized that a comms strategy is not a governing strategy.
Amid a rising climate of fear among Jewish New Yorkers, who are the target of more than half of all reported hate crimes in the city, Mark urged the Mayor to lower the temperature and help heal and unite the communities he represents.
