Illinois National Guard Partners with LLCC to Train Cooks
SPRINGFIELD, IL (05/22/2013)(readMedia)-- The Illinois Army National Guard has partnered with LLCC to train National Guard and Reserve Soldiers to train Army food service specialists. News organizations are invited to observe the first class Thursday May 23 at LLCC's Workforce Careers Center, 5250 Shepard Road.

| WHAT: | - The Illinois Army National Guard’s 129th Regional Training Institute in Springfield has partnered with LLCC to train National Guard and Reserve Soldiers to obtain the military occupation skill (MOS) 92G Army food service specialist. - Using LLCC’s state-of-the-art culinary facility at the Workforce Careers Center, Illinois National Guard Soldiers will be training Soldiers from across the nation on food preparation and facilitating food services for servicemembers. - The first class will train the future instructors and prepare them to instruct students next year. - The Illinois National Guard’s RTI is one of two National Guard school houses to offer the 92G MOS course and will be the first to open its doors to Soldiers when it officially opens in March 2014. - Senior leaders and course managers from both organizations will be available for interviews. o 10:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. - leadership and course managers will tour the LLCC culinary facility and observe techniques of cookery o 11 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. - food tasting |
