The training is likely to draw attention from the general public, but in order to limit distractions from the training there will not be a media availability. | WHAT: | • Illinois National Guard Special Forces Soldiers will conduct military training at several residential, commercial and civic locations in areas near Oakbrook Terrace, Villa Park, Plainfield and Kankakee. • The training activities will be continuous beginning the early morning of May 17 through the afternoon of May 19 and are likely to generate public attention. • This advisory serves as notice of the training for news organizations to accurately respond to “news tips.” News outlets are encouraged to call the Illinois National Guard Public Affairs office to confirm information at 217-761-3569. • To limit distractions to the training events, the Illinois National Guard will not have a media availability or make Soldiers available for interviews. |
