Why: The troubling purge of voter rolls, hostility at polls and other problems faced by voters at the polls during this past Tuesday's election speaks to larger, perennial failures of the New York City Board of Elections to train poll workers, modernize voter registration, and efficiently manage voter information. Advocates and affected voters will tell their stories and call on city and state governments to pass reforms to ensure that constituent complaints are met with justice and that hundreds of thousands of New Yorkers are not disenfranchised in the future.
