Indulgent Ice Cream Wins State Fair Ribbons

DES MOINES, IA (08/21/2018) (readMedia)-- Carson Houg of Urbandale won first place and a $100 cash award in the Give in to the Bunny-Most Indulgent Creation Competition judged Thursday at the 2018 Iowa State Fair.

Jennifer Bartles of Des Moines claimed second place and $75. Holly Houg of Urbandale earned third place and $50.

Contestants were challenged to create an award winning ice cream creation using Blue Bunny ice cream.

Entries were judged on originality and flavor.

The Iowa State Fair Food Department is the largest of any state fair in the country. There are 171 divisions, 727 classes and over 9,574 entries at this year's Fair. Food Department judging is held in the Elwell Family Food Center sponsored by Blue Bunny Ice Cream.
