Can Your Family Business Leverage the Marcellus Shale Play?
ELIZABETHTOWN, PA (11/08/2011)(readMedia)-- Experts from Fulton Bank of State College and Clermont Wealth Strategies at Fulton Bank have studied Marcellus Shale developments on behalf of area businesses and will present a free information session on business opportunities related to the drilling on Thursday, December 1, from 8:30 to 10 a.m. in the Hoover Center, Room 110, at Elizabethtown College. This session is open to leaders and representatives from family- and closely-held businesses in Central Pennsylvania and is not limited to members of the High Center for Family Business at Elizabethtown College.
"Marcellus Shale drilling will be the biggest event impacting PA businesses in our lifetime," said John Rodgers, senior vice president at Fulton Bank and one of the presenters. "Pennsylvania is in the early stage of related business development, with potential gains projected through the next 50-100 years."
Rodgers and co-presenter Paul Nicholas, senior vice president at Clermont Wealth Strategies at Fulton Bank will provide an update regarding Marcellus drilling including trends, latest developments, and numerous businesses that are being impacted by Marcellus Shale drilling. These include the hospitality industry; industrial goods and services such as valves, pumps, and welding; and spin-off industries including trucking, excavating, and construction. Professional services such as law and accounting will also be in demand.
"There's more demand than capacity in numerous industries," Nicholas said.
