Iowa Jersey Farms Win Top Titles in Iowa State Fair Dairy Show

DES MOINES, IA (08/16/2018) (readMedia)-- Dairies competed for top honors in the Jersey Dairy Cattle show judged Thursday at the 2018 Iowa State Fair.

The Grand Champion Female was shown by Rick Demmer of Peosta. Steinridge Jerseys of Lawler exhibited the Reserve Grand Champion Female.

Schulte Bros. of Blairstown earned Champion Premier Breeder and Premier Exhibitor. Steinridge Jerseys of Lawler claimed Reserve Champion Premier Exhibitor, and Groves Jerseys of Skidmore, MO claimed Reserve Champion Premier Breeder.

The Premier Breeder Award is given to the competitor who earns the most points for animals bred and exhibited by the entrant or others during the day's show. The Premier Exhibitor Award is given to the exhibitor who accumulates the most points based upon the day's placings.
