Iowa State Fair Adds Opening Acts and Tractor Pull

Iowa State Fair Grandstand Concert Line-Up presented by U.S. Cellular

DES MOINES, IA (04/12/2017) (readMedia)-- The Charlie Daniels Band has been added to the Alabama concert Thursday, August 17 at 8 p.m. Seth Ennis will open for Little Big Town Friday, August 18. The traditional Grand Outlaw National Tractor and Truck Pull will be held Wednesday, August 16 at 2 p.m. All tickets are on sale through www.etix.com or 800-514-3849.

The Iowa State Fair has been offering Tractor Pulling on the Fairgrounds since 1990. Tractor pulling is a competitive motor sport in which modified farm tractors, or modified tractors drag a metal sled containing a box filled with weight along a course. The tractor that pulls the sled the farthest distance is declared the winner. Known as "the world's heaviest motorsport," the goal of tractor pulling is to determine the strongest machine and the best driver.
