DES MOINES, IA (07/09/2015)(readMedia)-- We want to know what makes the Iowa State Fair special to you. Did you meet your spouse at the Iowa State Fair? Do you have an Iowa State Fair family tradition? Are there concerts you must see and food you must eat each year? Each experience at the Iowa State Fair is unique and the Iowa State Fair is looking for "My State Fair" stories like this:

Margo Fox met her husband, Chris, during the Iowa State Fair in 1989, and they were engaged three years later. "We said 'Wouldn't it be fun to get married at the Fair?' So I called and asked if that was possible and they said yes," said Fox. "We were married on the final Saturday of the Fair in 1992. We had to schedule around the chainsaw sculptures because of the noise and crowd."

As a way to give back to the Iowa State Fair for allowing them to get married during the Fair, Margo started volunteering for the Bill Riley Talent Show selling raffle tickets. She continues to volunteer for the Blue Ribbon Foundation today, "In 1993, the Blue Ribbon Foundation was founded and they called and said they heard I volunteered for Bill Riley and asked if I would volunteer for them. I believe I am the original volunteer for the Blue Ribbon Foundation."

Every year, Margo and Chris make it a point to ride the Sky Glider and visit the First Church, where they were married. Along with volunteering for the Foundation, Margo also makes sure to attend a concert and take a trip down the Giant Slide.

Like Margo, we know the Iowa State Fair is special to many people for many different reasons. We want to hear your "My State Fair" story.
