JCRC-NY Brings Jewish and Hindu New Yorkers and Elected Officials Together for Sukkot and Diwali Celebration

QUEENS, NY (10/24/2025) (readMedia)-- On Sunday, leaders of New York's Jewish and Hindu communities and elected officials will come together for Lights of Unity: A Hindu & Jewish Cultural Celebration - a festive cultural gathering uplifting the shared themes of the Sukkot and Diwali holidays. Sukkot and Diwali both invite observers to celebrate the joy and preciousness of life, the gifts of light and the annual harvest season, and the warmth of family gatherings.

Attendees at the event will hear from elected officials and community leaders, take part in meaningful Diwali and Sukkot activities, and enjoy delicious food. The event will also feature Jewish and Hindu performances and opportunities to learn about the meaning and cultural significance of the two vibrant holidays.

The celebration is co-hosted by the Jewish Community Relations Council of New York and the Hindu Temple Society of North America NY, and co-sponsored by the UJA Federation of New York, Queens Jewish Community Council, Queens College, and College Hillel.
