Jacee Yorks Is Awarded a Fund for Education Abroad Scholarship To Study Abroad

Jacee Yorks of Nescopeck, Pa. received a Fund for Education Abroad Scholarship to support her study abroad program with CAPA The Global Education Network in Sydney, Australia in summer 2018.

She was one of 268 scholars who were selected from a pool of over 2,300 applicants representing approximately 517 colleges and universities across the country - an award rate of about four percent. Fund for Education Abroad Scholarships are designed for students seeking a rigorous overseas academic program.

Yorks is a business management major and will take management classes for course credits through CAPA The Global Education Network. She will also complete an events management internship at a local business in Sydney. As part of the scholarship, she is required to blog about her different adventures and learning experiences while abroad.

Yorks was also a 2017 recipient of the Dr. Joseph Donald Stephens, DDS Global Scholars Award. The Dr. Joseph Donald Stephens, DDS Global Scholars Award provides students with scholarships to pursue their education in another country. The award was established by Wilkes University alumni Panos Kalaritis '77 and Deborah (Stephens) Kalaritis '78 in honor of her father, Joseph D. Stephens DDS, a 1951 graduate of Wilkes University.
