Jack Flaherty is Central College homecoming king

PELLA, (10/02/2012)(readMedia)-- Jack Flaherty, a native of Burlington and a senior at Central College, was voted Central's homecoming king. Clancy is majoring in athletic training. After graduating, he plans to attend graduate school.

Flaherty plays on the football team and is involved with Campus Ministries, FCA and the Student Athlete Advisory Council.

Each year, Central seniors are invited to nominate three men and three women from the senior class to represent Central on the homecoming court. The top five women and men are selected.

This year, the queen candidates included Cara Soukup, Alyssa Schwartz, Emily Huegel, Liz Clancy and Morgan Remick. The remaining king candidates included Tyler Mason, Gary Sorich, Ben Fry and Cameron Van Kooten.

Emily Huegel and Flaherty were chosen by the enitre student body as queen and king.

Central College is a private, four-year, residential, liberal arts college in Pella, Iowa. Central's academic program offers 39 majors leading to a bachelor's degree along with pre-professional programs and advising. Central was recognized in the 2012 U.S.News & World Report's annual rankings of the best liberal arts colleges in the nation.
