James B. Cowhey of Manheim Selected to Receive Biology Scholarship for 2011-2012

MILLERSVILLE, PA (05/23/2011)(readMedia)-- James B. Cowhey of Manheim, Pa. has been selected to receive Millersville University's Biology Scholarship for the 2011-2012 academic year. This scholarship is awarded to incoming freshmen majoring in biology and is based on academic merit.

Cowhey will attend Millersville University this fall, majoring in biology. He completed a traditional college preparatory program at Manheim Central High School, including the completion of several honors and advanced placement (AP) courses including Spanish, biology and chemistry. Cowhey is a member of the National Honor Society and the National Spanish Honor Society. He was also a peer tutor in grades 10 and 11.

The Biology Scholarship is given by an anonymous donor and is awarded in the amount of $2,000, to be split evenly between the student's fall and spring semesters. The award is renewable for up to six additional semesters if the student has maintained excellent academic standing and is pursuing a major in biology.
