ARLINGTON, VA (01/11/2010)(readMedia)-- Marymount University recently presented the 2009 Outstanding Recent Graduate Award to James Maguire, who received his Bachelor of Business Administration from Marymount in 1999. After graduation, Maguire went to work at Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) as an accounting assistant. Within a few short years he rose to the rank of vice president and business unit controller – making him one of the 20 most senior financial officers in the company, and one of the youngest in SAIC's history. During his tenure with the company, he recruited and hired numerous Marymount alumni.
Maguire went on to earn an MBA in Strategic Management from The George Washington University and, after eight impressive years at SAIC, he left the company to become CFO of Kaya, a government defense contractor located in Huntsville, Alabama. He led that company to significant growth and implemented improvements in its financial operations. Recently, Maguire made another career move, joining DRS Technologies' C3 & Aviation Group as a vice president in finance. He and his family (his wife, Rachel, is also a Marymount alum) now live in Potomac Falls, Virginia.
