Jamie-Leigh Csizmar Named Recipient of Wells College John D. Wilson-Ralph H. Poole, Jr. Award

AURORA , NY (06/15/2010)(readMedia)-- Senior women's soccer player Jamie-Leigh Csizmar (Glenfield, N.Y./South Lewis) has been selected as the recipient for the 2010 John D. Wilson-Ralph H. Poole, Jr. Award. Csizmar graduated in late May with a degree in mathematics.

Awarded annually to a member of the senior class who - in the spirit of liberal education- has made a distinguished contribution during her or his four years to the athletic program of the College. John D. Wilson was the president of Wells College from 1969 - 1975 and Ralph H. Poole, Jr., was Chairman of the Wells Board of Trustees for 13 years.

Involved in all facets of the Wells community, Csizmar is a member of the ONE Campus Challenge, Whirligigs, Wells Community Outreach, Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), while participating on the women's lacrosse and soccer teams. Csizmar has twice been an orientation leader for first year students, while participating in community service projects at Peachtown and in the Children Swim program held at the Wells pool.

A two sport athlete, Csizmar's success is not just limited to the classroom. She excelled on the lacrosse field in her two years of competition earning Rookie of the Year honors in 2007 and the Express Award in 2008. As a member of the women's soccer team Csizmar helped captain the women's soccer to two straight North Eastern Athletic Conference playoff appearances, while being named a NEAC Scholar Athlete in 2007-2008 and 2008-2009.
