Jay Simmons Receives Final Convocation Award

HAMPDEN-SYDNEY, VA (05/09/2012)(readMedia)-- At Final Convocation on April 26, Hampden-Sydney College sophomore Jamar Rodnique Simmons received the C.T. Crawley Music Award, presented by Professor Frank C. Archer '73, Associate Professor of Fine Arts. Established in 1948 and given in memory of Camilla Virginia Taylor Crawley, this award is given to an underclassman who has contributed significantly to the music program and shows the most promise as a musician.
Jay is a member of the Acousticals, an a capella group. A psychology major, he graduated from Prince Edward County High School and is the son of Mr. & Mrs. Bobby L. Simmons, Sr. of Cullen.
