Jenna Raleigh of Owings Awarded Calvert County Scholarship

ST. MARY'S CITY, MD (11/19/2013)(readMedia)--  Jenna Raleigh, an Owings, Md., native and sophomore at St. Mary's College of Maryland, was recently awarded the Calvert County Scholarship. Established by Calvert County Commissioners and private donors, this scholarship benefits academically talented students from Calvert County.

At St. Mary's College of Maryland, Raleigh is studying computer science and sociology. She hopes to put these skills to work in a career that allows her to "help people with their lives and businesses," she says.

Raleigh is involved in the Sociology Club and STARS (the LGBTQ association) at St. Mary's. She also enjoys playing the violin, video gaming and reading.

St. Mary's College of Maryland, designated the Maryland state honors college in 1992, is ranked one of the best public liberal arts schools in the nation by U.S. News & World Report. More than 2,000 students attend the college, nestled on the St. Mary's River in Southern Maryland.
