Jennifer Gentry Receives William Malcolm Jordan Earth Sciences Scholarship
MILLERSVILLE, PA (06/02/2014)(readMedia)-- Jennifer M. Gentry, Mechanicsburg, Pa., has been selected to receive the William Malcolm Jordan Earth Sciences Scholarship. Gentry will graduate from Mechanicsburg Area High School and will attend Millersville University of Pennsylvania this fall to study geology.
The Jordan Earth Science Scholarship is an award for freshman geology major or an earth science major pursuing a geology emphasis. It is a non-renewable award in the amount of $487.00.
Gentry pursued a traditional college preparatory curriculum in high school, earning high grades throughout. As a senior, Jennifer was selected to receive the Mid Penn Scholar Athlete Award. She received a varsity letter for golf, which she hopes to play at Millersville, and competed in states three times, placing in the top three competitors in some of the tournaments. Gentry was also involved in Girl Scouting, achieving her Silver Award. In addition, Gentry is involved in her church youth group and volunteers her time to several causes, including the Military Child and Youth Teen Council, of which she served as vice president.
