Jesse McClain of Hemet leading CLU students
THOUSAND OAKS, CA (06/16/2011)(readMedia)-- Jesse McClain of Hemet is president of the Associated Students of California Lutheran University for the 2011-2012 academic year.
Students elected McClain, a sophomore majoring in political science and religion, as well as the two other members of the Executive Cabinet. McClain has served as a Presidential Host and a member of CLU's Sustainability Council, the ASCLU Go Green Committee and the ASCLU Programs Board. He is currently working as an intern for Undergraduate Admissions.
As president, McClain leads ASCLU and serves on CLU's Board of Regents and Alumni Board of Directors. He is also the primary liaison between students and the faculty and staff.
The Executive Cabinet plans and implements activities and programs that educate and entertain students and provide service to the community.
CLU is a selective university located in Thousand Oaks, with Adult Degree Evening Program and graduate centers in Oxnard and Woodland Hills. With an enrollment of 3,900 students, CLU offers 36 undergraduate majors and graduate programs within the College of Arts and Sciences, School of Management and Graduate School of Education. Doctoral degrees in educational leadership, higher education leadership and clinical psychology are also offered.
