Jessica Katz Honored at Western New England College School of Engineering

SPRINGFIELD, MA (06/20/2011)(readMedia)-- Jessica L. Katz of Worcester received the Department of Industrial Engineering Award for Outstanding Senior during Baccalaureate ceremonies at Western New England College. The award is given to the student judged to be the top student in the program by a vote of the faculty.
Western New England Assistant Professor of Industrial Engineering Dr. Julie Drzymalski praised Katz's drive and determination during the awards ceremony. "She is one of those few people you meet that wants to do everything and you just know that they have what it takes – the ambition and intelligence to actually accomplish it successfully," said Drzymalski.
Katz graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering. She was inducted into the Alpha Lambda Delta, Sigma Beta Tau, and Tau Beta Pi honor societies. During her time at Western New England, Katz served as a volunteer at Shriner's Children's Hospital, worked at Hubbard Regional Hospital, and attended the National Youth Leadership Forum on Medicine. She has been accepted into the Leadership Training Program at United Technologies as an Information Technology Leadership Associate.
