Jill Thiemann of Toms River Receives Clarkson University's Top Award for Young Alumni

POTSDAM, NY (07/26/2010)(readMedia)-- Jill L. Thiemann of Toms River, N.J., associate for the law offices of O'Malley, Surman & Michelini in Brick, N.J., has received the Woodstock Award from her alma mater, Clarkson University.
Given each year during Reunion Weekend, the Woodstock Award honors young alumni who have demonstrated outstanding loyalty and service to Clarkson and the Alumni Association and who have used their Clarkson experience to make a notable contribution to their careers.
Thiemann received her bachelor of science degree in economics from Clarkson in 1990. In 1994, she received a doctor of law degree cum laude from Widener University School of Law in Harrisburg, Pa.
Thiemann's expertise is in matrimonial and family law, wills, residential real estate closings and refinances, general litigation, collections, residential and commercial landlord/tenant litigation, condominium law, plaintiff's personal injury, municipal court defense, and worker's compensation.
She is licensed to practice law and admitted in the jurisdictions of New Jersey, Pennsylvania, United States District Court -- District of New Jersey, and the United States Supreme Court. She is a member of the New Jersey State Bar Association, the Ocean County Bar Association (where she serves on the Family Law Committee, the Scholarship Committee, and the Women's Committee), and the Jersey Shore Collaborative Law Group.
Prior to joining O'Malley, Surman & Michelini, she worked as an associate for the law office of Lisa E. Halpern. Prior to that, she was a rotational law clerk for the Superior Court of New Jersey in Ocean County, N.J.
Thiemann is president of the Clarkson Alumni Association and served as vice president from 2008 to 2010. She was co-planning chair of the Class of 1990 reunion in July. She also served as a member-at-large of the alumni admission committee for the Clarkson University Alumni Council which she co-chaired from 2006-2008.
Thiemann has also volunteered as an admissions representative for Clarkson University since 2003. In 2005, she was honored with the Charles S. Ehrlich Award for her dedication and outstanding effort in assisting in the recruitment of students.
