Joelle Ocheltree Honored by Hartwick College, NY

Joelle Ocheltree of Libertyville, IL, was recognized with multiple awards during Hartwick College's Honors Convocation held on May 3.

Ocheltree was awarded the Robert E. Newnham Mathematics Scholarship, presented in memory of Dr. Newnham, an award-winning scientist, inventor and educator. The award supports a mathematics major demonstrating outstanding academic achievement, intellectual curiosity, and the intent to pursue a professional career in the field of mathematics.

Ocheltree also received the Dr. Robert E. Mansbach Scholarship, which was established by Charles Paul, Class of 1972 and Carolyn Van Eps Paul, Class of 1973, in honor of Dr. Robert E. Mansbach, a retired religion professor. The award is presented to a student who shows particularly outstanding growth in the spirit of liberal education.

Ocheltree was also named a Faculty Scholar in Economics and Mathematics. Faculty Scholars have excellent academic records and have demonstrated an outstanding mastery of their discipline. Rising seniors are nominated by the faculty in their major departments on the basis of academic achievement, leadership and character.
