ITHACA, NY (05/10/2012)(readMedia)-- Harrisonburg resident John Gardner played the role of Vincentio in the Ithaca College production of "Measure for Measure."
Gardner is a senior acting major. His previous Ithaca College mainstage credits include Mike Herren in "Plumfield, Iraq," Dancer in "Illuminated Bodies," Otis Gardiner and Philip Gaddarn in "Coram Boy," Jewell Estes in "Floyd Collins," a male cover in "Eurydice," and a male cover in "Metamorphoses." Additional credits include Jack in "The Nightmare: Reborn" with IC Underground, Jon in "Tick Tick Boom" with IC Triple Threat Theatre, Richie in "Streamers" with IC Underground, Cain and Japheth in "Children of Eden," Snail in "A Year with Frog and Toad," and Tardiveaux in "An Italian Straw Hat" all with Hope Summer Repertory Theatre in Holland, Michigan.
"Thank you to my family for their unending love and support. Special thanks to the faculty of the IC theatre department. The last four years have been too awesome," Gardner said.
Shakespeare's "Measure for Measure," written in 1604, deals with the political structure and religious instability of Elizabethan England. This production of "Measure for Measure" focuses on the divide between monarchy and commoner in a unique world.
