Jon Salm Wins 2012 Johnson Opportunity Grant at Washington and Lee University

LEXINGTON, VA (05/22/2012)(readMedia)-- Jon Salm of Lakeland, Fla., a junior at Washington and Lee University, has been selected for the spring/summer 2012 Johnson Opportunity Grant. The Johnson Program in Leadership and Integrity awards 25-30 grants each year.

Salm will head to New York City for an internship with RJW Collective, a full-service marketing agency.Salm is an English major with a minoe in philosophy and plans to pursue a career in marketing.

RJW is a relatively small firm and offers plenty of hands-on experience, pairing interns with a manager from one of its three departments--design, digital and accounts--where they will work directly on RJW accounts. Current clients include Lacoste, MTV, Sony and DeLeon Tequila.

Salm is a member of Beta Theta Pi fraternity at W&L.

The grants cover living, travel and other costs associated with the students' proposed activities, which are designed to help them with their future careers and fields of study. The grants vary in amount from $1,000 to $4,500 and are funded as part of the Johnson Program in Leadership and Integrity.
