Jonathan Fuentes of Silver Spring Awarded Roberts Family Financial Aid Endowment Scholarship

ST. MARY'S CITY, MD (01/06/2014)(readMedia)--  Jonathan Fuentes, a Silver Spring, Md., native and junior at St. Mary's College of Maryland, was recently awarded the Roberts Family Financial Aid Endowment..

At St. Mary's College of Maryland, Fuentes is studying sociology, biology, museum studies, African and African Diaspora, and environmental studies. He hopes to attend graduate school for life course sociology.

Outside of the classroom, Fuentes is involved in Raices Hispanas Club, Black Student Union and the Nicaragua Service Trip Club. He is interested in community outreach on social and health issues as well as environmental issues.

St. Mary's College of Maryland, designated the Maryland state honors college in 1992, is ranked one of the best public liberal arts schools in the nation by U.S. News & World Report. More than 2,000 students attend the college, nestled on the St. Mary's River in Southern Maryland.
