Jonathan Hufford Receives Award During Honors Convocation at Wofford College

SPARTANBURG, SC (05/20/2010)(readMedia)-- Wofford College senior Jonathan Hufford received the "Heart of a Terrier" Leadership Award during Honors Convocation May 11.

Hufford, the 24th Presidential International Scholar, entered Wofford as the recipient of a National Merit Scholarship and a Benjamin Wofford Scholarship. He was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa in 2008 and has served as vice chair of the Judicial Commission and as president of Pi Kappa Phi fraternity. Hufford also volunteered for Habitat for Humanity and the Spartanburg County Sheriff's Department. A scientist and a writer, he has received multiple grants as well as the first prize in the 2008 "Beyond the City's Northern Border" essay contest. The "Heart of a Terrier" Leadership Awards recognize those students who have made a positive difference on the campus and excelled in scholarship, leadership, and campus citizenship and service.
