DANVILLE, KY (09/08/2011)(readMedia)-- Centre College kicker/punter Jordan Gay was named Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Special Teams Player of the Week for his performance in Saturday's 38-21 victory over Hanover. He also made the D3Football.com Team of the Week.

The junior hit a school-record five field goals in as many attempts - from 46, 23, 25, 34 and 29 yards - and averaged 43.8 yards on five punts.

Gay, of Danville, won the SCAC weekly award twice last season.

He is the son of Jamey and Rickie Gay and is a graduate of Danville High School.
