Joseph Craven Earns Prestigious Academic Award at Illinois College
JACKSONVILLE, IL (07/13/2012)(readMedia)-- Joseph Craven of Springfield was among the students recognized on April 27 when the liberal arts college held its annual Celebration of Excellence, a daylong celebration that allowed students and faculty to take part in activities that commend academic excellence, a hallmark of the college since its founding in 1829.
Craven, a graduate, was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa, awarded the Richard L. Pratt Memorial Award, the National Communication Association Outstanding Senior Award, the Joe Patterson Smith Memorial Scholarship and the Howard E. Schuchmann Award in Public Affairs.
The Pleasant Plains High School graduate is the son of Donald and Denise Craven of Springfield.
Founded in 1829, Illinois College is a residential liberal arts college fostering academic excellence rooted in
opportunities for experiential learning while preparing students for lifelong success.
