CHADRON, NE (02/28/2011)(readMedia)-- Julian Lykins of Fremont, a sophomore studying design and merchandising at Chadron State College, assumed the role of student production manager for the second annual B94.7 Radio sponsored Ladies Fair and Fashion Show on Feb. 10.
Working with radio executives, campus conference and events coordinators, as well as seven local businesses and a senior design and merchandising major during the course of four months resulted in a tremendously successful event for guests and the businesses.
Lykins recruited about 30 models from the campus and community, including youth and men, to represent apparel ranging from western and work wear to elegant formal wear. Lykins worked with store proprietors and models to select and fashionable outfits representing different styles and sizes of models. Training of the models was provided during a rehearsal earlier in the week.
Many hours were invested in promotion for the show through poster design and pre-recorded radio advertisements.
Staging the event included coordinating entertainment, including Fredrick Culp from CSC who performed several original numbers and Jerome Suah, a student from the Pine Ridge Job Corps Center, who also entertained the audience with several original compositions.
Notable models making their appearance were Becky Grimm, Miss Rodeo Nebraska, and Oliva Joice, Miss Old West Trail Rodeo.
