International students must seriously consider many aspects of attending college overseas that they may not have to consider as seriously in their native countries, including location, the existing international student population, loan availability and costs, among other factors. LendEDU has focused its goals around helping prospective college students make informed decisions about the institutions they will attend, as well as helping international students decide what school to attend so that they can better plan for their college careers.
To meet these goals, the organization analyzes data licensed from Peterson's Financial Aid Database and compiles a list of schools that offer financial aid to international students. The data from Peterson's was voluntarily submitted by U.S. colleges and universities from the 2016/17 academic year, which is the most current dataset available. LendEDU defines financial aid as any scholarships, grants, student loans, and work-study funding offered to international students.
